The Epiphone Les Paul Custom is a 6-string electric guitar based upon the Gibson Les Paul Custom. It's a great guitar for intermediate and professional guitarists. There is also a Epi Les Paul Custom Plus version that has a flame maple top and maple neck also set into the body. The body of the guitar is made of Mahogany and Alder and comes with a Alpine White, Ebony, or Wine Red finish. The multi-ply binding is around the top and bottom of the body as well as the neck's fretboard and headstock. The neck is set into the body for excellent tone and sustain.

The 24.75" scale length neck is made of mahogany with block inlays. It has 22 frets and a rosewood fretboard that is bound with a single-ply binding as is the headstock. The Epi Les Paul Custom has two humbucker pickups which are an Alnico Classic HB at the neck (rhythm) position and a Alnico Hot HB in the Bridge (Lead) position. The two volume and two tone controls are in the standard configuration: a volume and tone control for each pickup. The 3-way pickup selector allows switching between the Bridge, Bridge+Neck, and Neck pickups.

This is a very well built guitar and has great tone. It's very much close to it's Gibson counterpart. The drawbacks are the Epiphone version may not be worth as much in the future as American Made Gibsons are more of collectors items. The all gold hardware gives the guitar a very classic look especially against the black ebony body. The electronics and controls are in the standard configuration with two volume and two tone knobs. One volume and one tone for each pickup. The 3-way pickup selector allows you to select between: Bridge, Bridge+Neck, and Neck pickups. The multi-ply pick guard is black and looks very nice with the gold hardware. A classic solidbody at a great price. Limited lifetime warranty.
